Advanced Dental Residency Programs
The future of dental specialty training should not begin with unsustainable debt
A Training Model Centered on Clinical Excellence.
Zero Tuition. $40,000 Annual Stipend.
For decades, advanced dental training has required a difficult tradeoff between educational quality and financial burden. At the Austin Institute of Dental Medicine (AIDM), we believe this tension ultimately affects not only providers, but also the patients they serve. When financial pressure dominates training environments, educational priorities can shift away from thoughtful, patient-centered care.
We designed an alternative.
The AIDM Residency Model
AIDM offers residency programs with no tuition and a $40,000 annual living stipend. Our model is intentionally structured to allow residents to focus fully on clinical learning, professional growth, and patient outcomes. This approach is not symbolic—it is deliberate. We believe the strongest clinical training environments are those that align institutional sustainability with educational rigor and ethical patient care.
What Distinguishes AIDM?
Professional Integration, Not Passive Observation
Residents train alongside board-certified specialists within a high-volume, fully digital clinical environment. Clinical contribution is meaningful, supervised, and fully integrated into patient care.
Depth and Complexity of Care
Residents actively manage a wide range of cases—from comprehensive restorative treatment to complex interdisciplinary and craniofacial cases—gaining hands-on experience that supports long-term clinical confidence and competence.

Advanced Technology as a Standard, Not an Add-On
Training includes routine exposure to CBCT imaging, AI-assisted diagnostics, and advanced digital workflows. Our focus is on removing barriers to learning, not passing costs on to trainees.
Excellence in Dental Education
At the Austin Institute of Dental Medicine, our academic programs form a cornerstone of our mission to advance the field of dentistry. These residencies play an essential role in cultivating the next generation of dental specialists. Through rigorous training, faculty mentorship, and exposure to cutting-edge technology, residents gain the skills and perspective to provide outstanding care and lead within their chosen specialties.

Applicant Profile
These programs are intentionally selective. Because the institution makes a significant investment in each resident, we seek individuals who demonstrate strong clinical aptitude, professionalism, empathy, and a commitment to excellence. This training pathway is designed for clinicians who are motivated by mastery, responsibility, and leadership within the profession.
Accreditation
The Advanced Education Programs in Prosthodontics, Endodontics, Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD), and Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics sponsored by Paris Regional Health at the Austin Institute of Dental Medicine (AIDM) are developing programs that have applied for accreditation by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) of the American Dental Association.
* A comprehensive CODA site-visit evaluation was completed in September 2025 with no recommendations cited. CODA will consider granting each program “Initial Accreditation” at its 2026 meeting (Feb 2026). No residents will be enrolled until Initial Accreditation is granted, in accordance with CODA policy for developing programs. Pending that decision, the inaugural cohort is anticipated to matriculate in July 2026.
